Robert Rafson, P.E., has achieved recognition in several fields, including patented innovative soil remediation technology, gaseous emission controls and brownfield redevelopment. He serves as C.E.O. of two technology based corporations: Rafson Engineering, Inc. (Environmental Consulting), and Greenfield Partners, Ltd. (Brownfields Developer). Over the past 27 years, he has been involved in the engineering, design and implementation of over 150 environmental improvement projects including work in United States and 4 other countries and the redevelopment of 17 contaminated properties including four SUPERFUND projects in the Chicago area and authored a Brownfields - Redeveloping environmentally contaminated properties, published June 1999 with McGraw-Hill. The latest Brownfield redevelopment includes many energy efficient and sustainable features including the largest solar thermal installation in the City of Chicago, energy efficient lighting and controls, recycled materials and practices and permeable paving.
